The Institute for Myeloma & Bone Cancer Research will be an official charity for the 2014 L.A. Marathon.
For the fifth consecutive year, the Marathon will feature the popular “Stadium to the Sea” route from Dodger Stadium to oceanside in Santa Monica.
“If running a marathon is something you’ve always wanted to do, or never even thought about doing until now, this is a great time to do it. You can accomplish two goals, running 26.2 miles as well as helping to raise much needed funds for research to combat blood and bone marrow cancers,” Dr. James R. Berenson, president and chief medical officer of the institute, said in a statement.
[For the record, 11:30 a.m. Oct. 11: An earlier version of this post said that The Institute for Myeloma & Bone Cancer Research will be the official charity for the 2014 L.A. Marathon. It will be one of several charities affiliated with the race.]
