USC tailback Silas Redd is expected to make his season debut Thursday night against Arizona.

Redd, a senior, led the Trojans in rushing last season, but he has been sidelined while recovering from knee surgeries.

Redd, who rushed for 905 yards in 2012, suffered torn ligaments in his left knee during spring practice. He underwent surgery soon after, but required another procedure in late August.

Redd traveled with the Trojans for their last game at Arizona State, but he was not cleared to play. He participated in full-contact drills for the first time this week.

Tre Madden is expected to start. Justin Davis has been nursing an ankle sprain, so that might create opportunity for Redd.

Redd tweeted Thursday that he was ready.

Been a long road to recovery! But I’ve stayed patient and along with the help of some great people god has allowed me this opportunity!— Silas Redd (@Coast2CoastSii) October 10, 2013
