Did Coach K scold Oregon’s Dillon Brooks for poor sportsmanship after Duke’s loss ... or not?

Duke players and fans were already upset. The Blue Devils' shot at defending the national title was coming to a close at the hands of Oregon.

The Ducks held a double-digit lead with less than 10 seconds left when star forward Dillon Brooks hoisted up a deep three-pointer before the shot clock expired. He drained the shot and then celebrated at half court.

When the final buzzer sounded soon after, Brooks tried to shake hands with Duke guard Grayson Allen, but Allen was not interested.

Then when the teams met to shake hands following the game, Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski had a conversation with Brooks.

Brooks appears to apologize after Krzyzewski's initial comments and Krzyzewski seems to then tell Brooks he is "terrific," but the rest of the conversation has sparked a debate.

"He said I'm too good of a player to be showing off at the end," Brooks said. "And you know, he's right. I gotta respect Duke. I've gotta respect them. He's one of the greatest coaches."

But Krzyzewski told a different story.

"I didn't say that," Krzyzewski responded when asked about the interaction. "You can say whatever you want. Dillon Brooks is a hell of a player. I said 'You're a terrific player.' And you can take whatever he said and then go with it, all right?"

Brooks finished with a team-high 22 points to go along with six assists and five rebounds. Regardless of who is telling the truth, Brooks and the Ducks are advancing to the Elite Eight to play Oklahoma while Duke is headed back to North Carolina.
