Ed Orgeron, USC’s interim football coach, has opened practices to the media, the school announced Tuesday.

Practices had been closed this season under former coach Lane Kiffin, who was fired Sunday after USC’s 62-41 loss at Arizona State.

Reporting of injuries will be allowed under Orgeron, the school said.

NCAA sanctions prohibit the public from being on the practice field, but an athletic department spokesman said USC’s compliance department is reviewing whether the public can be allowed to view practices from the adjoining baseball facility, as they were allowed to do during spring practice and training camp.

USC, 3-2 overall and 0-2 in the Pac-12 Conference, practices Wednesday for the first time since Kiffin’s firing.

The Trojans have an open date this weekend, and play Arizona at the Coliseum on Oct. 10.
