There will be an “Orange Out” tonight by Oregon State fans at Reser Stadium, but USC will still have a presence.

In the stadium elevator.

Rick Switzer, a supervisor for guest services at Oregon State, said he has operated the elevator on game days for seven years and he wallpapers his workspace with photos and covers of old game programs.

Among them is the 1967 Oregon State-USC program. The Beavers upset the top-ranked Trojans, 3-0, at what was then Parker Stadium.

There also is the 1957 Oregon State-USC program (seen in picture above). The Beavers defeated the Trojans, 20-0, at Multnomah Stadium in Portland in the season opener.

An Oregon State-UCLA program and others dating to the early 1900s are on display.

“I do this to get the fans motivated,” Switzer said of the décor.

Switzer, who attended elementary school in the Southland before moving to the Pacific Northwest, said he changes the display every season.

“It brings back some memories,” he said.
