USC routed Notre Dame, 49-14, in the regular-season finale on Saturday at the Coliseum.

The Trojans improved to 8-4 overall and 6-3 in the Pac-12 Conference.

The Fighting Irish fell to 7-5.

USC quarterback Cody Kessler completed a career-best 32 passes for 372 yards and six touchdowns -- the most touchdowns ever thrown against Notre Dame.

Nine receivers caught a passes; five of them caught passes for touchdowns.

Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson was replaced by Malik Zaire in the second quarter.

Golson completed seven of 18 passes, with an interception and fumble.
