Former USC quarterback Carson Palmer connected with receiver John Brown on a 75-yard touchdown pass play with 1:21 left, giving the Arizona Cardinals a 24-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium.
“It was a good play,” Palmer told reporters. “We got the coverage we wanted and [Brown] made a great play.”
Palmer completed 20 of 42 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns.
It was the Cardinals’ third consecutive victory since Palmer returned from a shoulder injury.
Palmer has completed 94 of 154 passes for 1,136 yards and eight touchdowns, with an interception.
Woods catches a touchdown
Receiver Robert Woods had a big first half in the Buffalo Bills’ 43-23 victory over the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.
Woods caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Orton to take a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
Woods caught three passes for 50 yards, but was sidelined in the second quarter because of a back injury.
Woods told ESPN radio the injury should not keep him sidelined long.
“It shouldn’t impact me going forward,” he said. “We have a good training staff who should get me back quickly.”
Woods has 28 receptions for 294 yards and two touchdowns.
Cameron contributes in victory
Cleveland Browns tight end Jordan Cameron caught three passes for 40 yards in a 23-13 victory over the Raiders at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Cameron has 13 receptions for 250 yards and a touchdown.
