HERMèS is being all hush-hush about it, but there was Cameron Silver, owner of L.A.’s famed vintage emporium Decades, flashing the coolest of man bags around the Paris men’s shows earlier this month.

And it turns out he’d designed the bag himself.

For Hermès.

The “Cameron” is a structured flap style not unlike a Birkin in dark leather with Hermès orange lining, a shoulder strap and side pockets. When unfolded, it looks roomy enough to accommodate a handful of yellow legal pads.

The French leather-goods house said the bag is one of four guest designs being considered for wider production next year. The final look, the pricing and the release schedule are still up in the air.

Everyone knows the Birkin is named for Jane Birkin and the Kelly bag for Grace Kelly. But the Cameron?

“People will probably think it’s named after Cameron Diaz,” Silver said. “But it’s named after me.”

And judging from the early reaction from the Los Angeles crowd at the shows, it might already have a waiting list.

“I have to have one,” stylist Rachel Zoe said to Silver. “I’ll totally pay for it.”
