Deal: Want to see more of Washington, D.C.? This pass makes it easier
Cherry blossoms in Washington, D.C., are predicted to pop as early as March 18 this year. You can stroll the Tidal Basin to see the pink-blooming trees for free. If you’re out to see more attractions in and around the Capital, you might consider buying a Go Washington DC Card.
The deal: There are so many free things to do in D.C., like all the Smithsonian museums and the Lincoln Memorial, you might not need a discount pass to attractions that charge.
But if want to visit the International Spy Museum, Newseum and take a boat ride on the Potomac River, the Go Card Explorer Pass offers a discount that may work for you.
You can choose three ($59 for adults and $39 for children) or five ($89 for adults and $59 for kids) from a list of nine attractions.
An example: You’d save $23 if you chose an adult pass for the Newseum (usually $22.95 for adults/$13.95 for children), George Washington’s Mount Vernon (usually $20 for adults/$17 for children) and CitySights Monuments Express Hop-On Hop-Off Tour (usually $39 for adults/$29 for children).
When: No deadline to buy this pass.
Details: The pass is good for 30 days once you start using it, so you don’t have to try and see everything in one day.
