Southern California hotels that received AAA’s Five Diamond ratings — and how much it costs to stay

Thirteen hotels in Southern California have received AAA’s top rating for 2018. The organization’s Wednesday announcement includes 121 Five Diamond hotels nationwide.

Less than half of 1% of the 27,000 hotels inspected and approved by the organization are awarded the designation.

These luxury hotels shouldn’t be a surprise either; they’ve all received Five Diamonds in the past.

Here are the 13 hotels and the lowest price for a night’s stay on Feb. 10 (unless otherwise noted):

— Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, Golf Club & Spa, 7100 Aviara Resort Drive, Carlsbad, $359

— Monarch Beach Resort, 1 Monarch Beach Resort, Dana Point, $679

— The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, 1 Ritz-Carlton Drive, Dana Point, $649

— The Lodge at Torrey Pines, 11480 N. Torrey Pines Road, La Jolla, $419

— Montage Laguna Beach, 30801 S. Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, $945

— Four Seasons Resort, The Biltmore Santa Barbara, 1260 Channel Ave., Santa Barbara, $745 in mid June. The hotel is currently closed to repair damage from the January mudslides in Montecito and Santa Barbara.
