Moab Music Festival

Los Angeles Times Staff Writer

Music is performed at scenic sites in and around Moab. For one benefit concert, concert-goers -- and the piano too -- are transported by jet boat to a grotto 20 miles down the Colorado River in Canyonlands National Park. Another concert takes place atop a mesa and another at Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa. Classical chamber music is the heart of the festival, but Latin, folk and even rock make it into the mix.

When, where: Aug. 30 to Sept. 15 at locations around Moab.

Admission: Three concerts are free; others range from $15 ($5 for students with ID) to $300 for the highest-priced benefit concert.
