Southwest and Spirit airfare sales: $19 to Las Vegas; $31 to Chicago

I came, I clicked, I conquered. That’s pretty much how I found these cheap airfares at Southwest and Spirit airlines that were actually less than the advertised sale fares. Book soon if you’re interested because seats usually go quickly and the offers expire soon.

Southwest Airlines: A 3 Days of Deals Web-only sale on many destinations ends at 11:59 p.m. PST Thursday. One of the best fares: $29 one way, plus tax, from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. I went online and found an even lower fare, $19 each way, for a trip leaving Feb. 15 and returning Feb. 17. Total round-trip cost with tax and fees: $63.10. The offer requires a 14-day advance purchase and is good for travel through May 21, except for some blackout dates.

Spirit Airlines: The Take Off and Get Warmed Up sale features a $78 round-trip airfare (excluding tax) from Los Angeles to Chicago on just six days in May. I went online and found an even lower fare, $31 each way, for a trip leaving May 12 and returning May 19. Total cost with tax and fees: $99.40. The offer is good until 8:59 p.m. PST Wednesday.
