Las Vegas: Get ready for a summer of Carnevale at Palazzo, Venetian

Share

Get ready for the Las Vegas version of Carnevale. More than 300 events are planned at the Venetian and the Palazzo, where Carnevale continues through Sept. 8.

The festival mimics celebrations of summer in Europe and the famed Carnevale in Venice, a Lenten observance that began more than 850 years ago.

Each evening, the sister resorts will feature the Masquerade, during which costumed characters re-create the romance and mystery of the historic Venetian celebration. “Ciao Bella!” another nightly activity, will feature live music and mixology lessons.

A variety of events are planned for summer. For example, popular Australian chef Curtis Stone will host the Curtis Stone Up-Close and Personal Weekend July 26 and 27. Fans can try recipes from the chef’s newest cookbook during a five-course meal with wine pairings. A Champagne reception is included in the $200 price of admission.

A Giro D’Italia (Tour of Italy) Wine and Food Walk is scheduled for Aug. 9 at the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. Tickets are priced at $29 plus tax.

Some of the special activities will be limited to hotel guests and members of Grazie, the resorts’ players club.
