ABC’s ‘Forever’ gets a full season order; ‘Selfie’ does not
“Forever” will be around for a while. “Selfie” will not.
ABC’s freshman drama about a top New York medical examiner with a huge sercret -- he is immortal -- has been picked up for a full season. The series stars Ioan Gruffudd, Judd Hirsch, Alana De La Garza and Lorraine Toussaint.
The news was not so good for “Selfie,” the “My Fair Lady”-flavored comedy about a woman obsessed with social media who recruits a co-worker and marketing guru to help her relate more realistically with people. The network did not order an additional nine episodes on top of the original 13-episode order.
“Selfie” is scheduled to air next Tuesday at its regular time. Future airings have yet to be determined.
The series, which starred Karen Gillan and John Cho, is one of several new romantic comedies on the fall schedule, including the already canceled “A to Z” and “Manhattan Love Story,” that have failed to connect with viewers.
