San Diego officer shoots two in drug search
SAN DIEGO — A San Diego police officer Thursday shot two people while serving a drug search warrant at a home in the Encanto neighborhood, officials said.
When the officer knocked on the front window, she saw a man inside the home reach for what she thought was a gun, according to Lt. Mike Hastings.
The officer, described as a three-year veteran of the department, fired several rounds.
A 35-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman were hit, in the legs and hip, according to Hastings. Both were taken to a hospital and were listed in stable condition.
