Woman’s body found in ocean
Los Angeles County lifeguards responded to three unrelated incidents off the coast Tuesday, including the discovery of a dead body in the ocean.
Shortly after 1 p.m., lifeguards responded to a report of a drowning at White Point County Beach, said Brian Webb, a dispatch supervisor for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The body of a 30-year-old woman was found floating in the ocean. The victim was discovered by a lobster fisherman.
The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene, Webb said. No further details were available.
Shortly after, and near the same beach, rescuers took a 45-year-old man to a hospital after he suffered a medical problem, fell off a boat and went into cardiac arrest, said Brendon Peart, another supervisor.
In a third incident about two hours later, rescuers saved three people in the water after a boat capsized in the waters near Long Beach, Webb said.
