Re “LAPD Bullet Killed Girl in Clash,” July 14

I suppose the best way to settle the argument as to who was right and who was wrong in the tragic death of Suzie Marie Pena is by simply asking how loud the uproar would be if it had been a member of the LAPD SWAT team who had picked up the toddler and used her as a shield instead of her own father.

Until you walk a mile in our shoes you have no concept of what we face day in and day out with loving, caring family members who threaten to kill their loved ones.

Come on, stand up and be counted (and vilified) when the perfect endings to the encounters forced upon you don’t happen.
