* Florida 3, at Atlanta 2: Jay Bouwmeester and David Booth scored 17 seconds apart early in the third period and the Panthers ended a three-game losing streak.

* at Washington 4, Carolina 1: Alex Ovechkin scored his league-leading 63rd goal and the Capitals won their fifth in a row for the first time since March 2001. They’ve also won nine of their last 10 games.

* New Jersey 2, at N.Y. Islanders 1 (OT): Zach Parise deflected in Johnny Oduya’s shot 29 seconds into overtime for the Devils, who clinched an Eastern Conference playoff berth.

* Montreal 3, at Ottawa 0: The sixth-place Senators have a one-point lead over Boston and Philadelphia, who currently hold the final two playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. Ottawa is also only two points ahead of ninth-place Washington.

* Buffalo 4, at Toronto 3 (SO): Maxim Afinogenov scored the winning goal in the shootout and the Sabres moved three points behind the Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins, tied for seventh in the Eastern Conference.

* Nashville 4, at St. Louis 3 (OT): Rich Peverley scored 1:43 into overtime to complete the Predators’ comeback from a three-goal deficit. The Predators jumped ahead of Vancouver into the eighth playoff spot in the Western Conference.

* Calgary 3, at Edmonton 2: Owen Nolan scored the winning goal with 3:44 left in regulation. The Flames need only a point in their last two games, or a loss by Vancouver, to make the playoffs.

* Colorado 4, at Vancouver 2: Milan Hejduk and Wojtek Wolski scored 35 seconds apart in the second period and the Avalanche rallied and clinched a playoff spot. Jose Theodore made 28 saves for Colorado.

* at San Jose 5, Kings 2: The Sharks closed their home schedule with their 18th win in 20 games.
