Grizzlies bottle up East-leading Pacers

Mike Conley scored 21 points, Zach Randolph had 18 points and 13 rebounds, and the Memphis Grizzlies held the Indiana Pacers to their lowest output of the season Saturday night in an 82-71 victory at Memphis, Tenn.

Mike Miller scored 13 points as Memphis won for the seventh time in nine games and moved a game ahead of Phoenix for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Marc Gasol, returning after spraining his ankle Friday night, had 10 points and nine rebounds.

Lance Stephenson had 15 points and eight rebounds for the Eastern Conference-leading Pacers, who shot 37%. Paul George, Indiana’s leading scorer at 22.1 points per game, was held to eight points.

at New Orleans 105, Miami 95: Anthony Davis had 30 points, 11 rebounds and three steals, and the Pelicans handed the struggling Heat its seventh loss in 11 games. LeBron James twisted his right ankle late in the third quarter but remained in the game and finished with 25 points, nine assists and eight rebounds. Dwyane Wade and Greg Oden were given a night off.

at Chicago 91, Philadelphia 81: The 76ers suffered their 24th straight loss, within two of the NBA record. They passed the Vancouver Grizzlies (1995-96), Denver Nuggets (1997-98) and Charlotte Bobcats (2011-12) for the second-longest single-season losing streak.

at Charlotte 124, Portland 94: Al Jefferson scored 28 points and Kemba Walker had 26 for the Bobcats, who achieved season highs in points and margin of victory in handing the Trail Blazers their worst loss this season.

San Antonio 99, at Golden State 90: Tony Parker had 20 points and five assists, and the West-leading Spurs handled the Warriors despite Tim Duncan’s sitting out the second game of a back-to-back set.

Houston 118, at Cleveland 111: James Harden had 37 points and 11 assists in 29 minutes, sitting out the fourth quarter as the Rockets rolled to a wire-to-wire win without Dwight Howard, who missed his third game because of a sore ankle.

at Utah 89, Orlando 88: Trey Burke’s three-pointer with 1.9 seconds left gave the Jazz a victory that could be a factor in determining draft lottery position.
