Streak Ends for Chapman Women

The Chapman College women’s basketball team saw its streak of 24 consecutive wins at home, the longest in Division 2, snapped Monday night as the Uniuersity of Portland upset the Panthers, 59-58, in the Hutton Sports Center.
Portland’s Jolene Barton scored on a three-point play with 19 seconds left to give the Pilots the win.
The Pilots’ Vicky Chalfant led all scorers with 21 points. Delisa Carter scored 17 points and had 13 rebounds for the Panthers.
Chapman (10-2) plays McGill University of Montreal at home Wednesday. The Panthers last loss at home was in December of 1982 to Pepperdine.
