A 62-year-old woman was apparently beaten to death by a robber who then set fire to her Southwest Los Angeles apartment, police reported. Detectives said Daisy Field was apparently beaten to death with a blunt object by an assailant who then set a fire either on her body or next to it. Los Angeles firefighters controlled the blaze, which damaged part of the woman’s living room.
