An NCAA committee has restored the eligibility of five Arizona State baseball players and two wrestlers.
The university had declared the athletes ineligible last month under orders from the Pacific 10 Conference, which had conducted an investigation into ASU’s work-study program.
The school declined to release the names of the athletes involved, but sources said they were All-American junior pitcher Doug Henry, senior outfielder Todd Brown, senior third baseman George Lopez, junior designated hitter Charles Scott and junior first baseman Ted Dyson.
Henry was 11-2 last season. Brown hit .366 with 15 home runs and 63 RBIs. Dyson hit .324, Lopez .301 and Scott .214.
