NOMINEES FOR WORST FILMS OF ’84 ANNOUNCED

“Bolero,” “Cannonball Run II,” “Rhinestone,” “Sheena, Queen of the Jungle” and “Where the Boys Are” are the top nominees for 1984 Golden Raspberry Awards, bestowed each year in the shadow of the Oscars to recognize the worst achievements in film.

Bo Derek and “Bolero” scored nominations in nine of the 10 of the “Razzie” categories, which range from Worst Picture to Worst New Star. The winners will be announced at a ceremony March 24.

Battling it out for Worst Actress laurels will be Derek, Faye Dunaway (“Supergirl”), Shirley MacLaine (“Cannonball Run II”), Tanya Roberts (“Sheena”) and Brooke Shields (“Sahara”). Shields was also nominated for Worst Supporting Actor for a scene in which she donned a mustache to compete in a drag race.

The Worst Actor nominees are Lorenzo Lamas (“Body Rock”), Jerry Lewis (“Slapstick of Another Kind”), Peter O’Toole (“Supergirl”), Sylvester Stallone (“Rhinestone”) and Burt Reynolds (a double whammy: “Cannonball Run II” and “City Heat”).
