A Santa Ana man is being sought in the shooting death of his brother-in-law Friday night, police said.

Roberto Howard, 25, whose sister is married to the wanted man, was found dead in his Santa Ana apartment with a single shotgun wound to the chest, Santa Ana Police Lt. Jack Nelson said.

Argument Turns to Fight

Police said the shooting occurred about 10:30 p.m. in the apartment, in the 1600 block of West Civic Center Drive, when an argument between the two men escalated into a fight.

The brother-in-law, Abraham Alcaraz, also 25, works as a security guard and lives at the same address, but police said they did not know whether the three shared the same apartment.

Santa Ana Police Lt. Bob Jordan said investigators were still searching Saturday for Alcaraz, who fled before officers arrived.
