Prep Basketball GIRLS : Louisville Gets Ready for Alemany With Rout of Notre Dame, 65-25

Louisville High tuned up for its championship game with Alemany by beating Notre Dame, 65-25, at home Tuesday.

The Royals are now 12-1 in the San Fernando Valley League and will meet Alemany, which is also 12-1, on Thursday to decide the title.

The Royals raced to a 20-1 lead in the first period before Notre Dame managed to make a basket just before the quarter ended.

Andrea Knapp, a 6-1 sophomore, had 18 points and nine rebounds in limited playing time. Marianella Cruz, a junior, had 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. She is averaging about 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists a game this season.

Tina Kohler, who is also a sophomore, had 17 points and seven rebounds in the Notre Dame victory.

Notre Dame’s high scorer was Christy Parker, with nine points. The Lady Knights are now 4-13 overall and 3-10 in league.

Crossroads 69, Campbell Hall 29

Kim Turner scored 31 points, more than the entire Campbell Hall team, to push host Crossroads School past Campbell Hall in a Delphic League game.

Dana Gelb scored 11 points and had five rebounds for Campbell Hall, which fell to 1-11 in league and 2-18 overall.

Buckley 50, Providence 33

Senior point guard Joelle Wilkes scored 24 points and had 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals to lead Buckley High to a win at Providence.

Tara Mody added 10 points and five rebounds for the Griffins, who improved to 7-3 in the Delphic League and 11-6 overall.

Mary Alafetich scored 18 points and Ann Yousko had 11 for Providence. The Pioneers are 2-7 in league.

Oakwood 45, Simi Lutheran 21

Despite 20 points and six rebounds by 5-7 freshman guard Tanya Deukmedjian, Simi Lutheran High dropped to 3-7 in the Heritage League and 4-15 overall.

Linda Green had a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds for visiting Oakwood.

Saugus 51, Burroughs 39

Saugus High turned a close game into a rout by outscoring host Burroughs of Ridgecrest by eight points in the third quarter. Saugus had led, 16-15, at halftime.

Holly Ingersoll scored 15 points, while teammates Patti Miller and Julie Garelick each had 13 points for Saugus. The Centurions improved their record to 4-4 in the Golden League and 6-10 overall.

Michelle Cronichite scored 23 points for the Burros, who fell to 5-4 in league and 11-10 overall.

W.S. Christian 29, Montessori 13

Sophomore Donnelle Johnston scored 16 points and had 12 rebounds to lead West Simi Christian High to a nonleague win.

Peaches Simon scored 12 points for Montessori International.

West Simi Christian is 14-2 this season.

W. V. Chr. 28, Camarillo Chr. 22

Stefani Hancock scored 11 points and had 10 rebounds as West Valley Christian defeated Camarillo Christian at Hillcrest Gymnasium.

West Valley Christian is 5-0 in the Christian Schools Athletic Conference and 11-0 overall. Camarillo Christian is 3-2 in conference.
