Jim Walker Resigns--St. Paul High School football coach Jim Walker has resigned after three seasons. Walker, whose record was 15-14-1, said, “It’s time to move on and try to improve my situation. I’ve applied for a couple of coaching positions at public high schools.” The Rev. Aidan M. Carroll, principal of St. Paul, said he is forming a five-member search committee to advise him in the selection of a successor to Walker.

Bears Seek Football Coach--Warren High School Principal William Spurston said he hopes to have a replacement by the end of the month for Randy Drake, who resigned as the Bears’ head football coach recently. Drake, 34, will remain at the school in a full-time teaching position. A job flier has been circulated seeking candidates from within the district, Spurston says he’ll open the position to others if he is

not satisfied with district applicants.

Still Looking--Downey High School interviewed district applicants Wednesday for the head football coaching job vacated by the resignation of Brad Elrod. Principal Moe Chavez indicated that he would forward the results of the interviews to the district headquarters for further action.
