UCI Scores Three in Eighth to Win
The UC Irvine baseball team scored three runs in the eighth inning to beat Cal State Dominguez Hills, 4-1, Wednesday in Carson.
Anteater catcher Steve Morgan singled in the eighth with the bases loaded to break a 1-1 tie. First baseman Bob Perry followed with a sacrifice fly to center to drive in another. UCI (4-1-1) got its last run when Mike Sugar singled with two outs. Sugar was 3 for 4 as was shortstop Adam Ging. Morgan was 2 for 4.
Senior pitcher Robbie Johnson (1-0) went 8 innings for the win, he allowed eight hits.
