Chapman Women Clinch Tie for Title

Chapman College women’s basketball team, ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division 2, beat Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 79-59, Thursday night in the Hutton Sports Center at Orange.
The victory enabled the Panthers to tie Cal Poly Pomona for the California Collegiate Athletic Assn. championship. Both teams finished 11-1. Chapman finished its regular season with a 25-3 record.
Leone Patterson led Chapman with 18 points, making 9 of 11 shots. She also had four assists and six rebounds.
The Mustangs were paced by Sue Farmer’s 14 points.
