Cal Poly Pomona Women Reach Semifinals

Senior Forward Sheri Jennum scored 19 points and Vickie Mitchell added 18 Saturday to lead the the Cal Poly Pomona women’s basketball team to a 71-59 NCAA Division II quarterfinal win over St. Cloud State at St. Cloud, Minn.

Center Janine Phillips had 17 rebounds for the Broncos (24-7), who advanced to the semifinals for the third time in four years. They’ll play Hampton (Va.) Institute March 21 at Springfield, Mass. Hampton beat Pace (N.Y.), 90-82, in overtime.
