Life Styles Scores Win at Sunland Park
Life Styles, an unbeaten 2-year-old quarter horse filly, scored a wire-to-wire victory Sunday in the 14th running of the West Texas Futurity at Sunland Park in New Mexico.
Ridden by jockey Jerry Nicodemus, Life Styles outran Ima Passem Bug to the finish of the 330-yard race that offered a purse of $159,621. The filly earned $63,921 with the victory in the race that is the first major test this season for 2-year-olds.
Life Styles paid $4.40, $3.20 and $2.80.
Life Styles had posted the second fastest qualifying time in the trials. She is scheduled to make her next stakes appearance in Los Alamitos’ Kindergarten Futurity in June.
