Maureen Formico, star junior forward for the Pepperdine women’s basketball team, set several school records this past season.

Her single-season records: 713 points, 301 field goals, 652 field goal attempts and a 24.6-point scoring average. She also set game records for field goals attempted (33) and made (19) and rebounds (33).

Formico is third on Pepperdine’s career scoring list with 1,548 points and fourth in rebounding with 864.

Richard Perelman, who was vice president of press operations for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, has been named operations director for Camp Hess Kramer, a summer camp in Malibu sponsored by Wilshire Boulevard Temple.

Jacob Bleaman of Beverly Hills shot a hole in one at Penmar Golf Course. He used a 5 wood on the 145-yard eighth hole for his first ace in 55 years of golfing.

Robert Garbell of Santa Monica has qualified for the U. S. tennis team that will compete in the 12th World Maccabiah Games on July 15-25 in Israel.

Fred Sands, owner of Fred Sands Realtors, has announced that each office, affiliate and division of his firm will sponsor an athlete in the 16th annual California Special Olympics Summer Games on June 22-24 at UC Berkeley.
