Matt Robinson passed for three touchdowns, and Portland defenders picked off four Bobby Hebert passes Saturday night as the Breakers pulled away for a 30-17 United States Football League victory over the favored Oakland Invaders before 23,388 at Portland.

Hebert, who hadn’t thrown an interception in four games, gave up two in the first quarter to help Portland take a 17-0 lead.

The first two Breaker touchdowns came on passes of 13 and four yards from Robinson to tight end Dan Ross. Oakland (4-2-1) rallied for two second-quarter touchdowns--one on a 33-yard pass from Hebert to Albert Bentley and the other on a two-yard run by John Williams to cap a 90-yard drive.
