Todd Holt’s one-out homer in the top of the ninth gave the Golden Hawks the victory in the first game, in which the teams combined to hit six homers. Jeff DeJesse gave Troy a 5-3 lead with a grand slam in the bottom of the fourth, but El Dorado countered with solo home runs by Jeff Petredes in the fifth and Tim Goff in the sixth, tying the game at 5-5.

In other nonleague action:

Anaheim (2-8), which had lost six straight, only had one hit in the third, an RBI single by third baseman Larry Cabral.

Will Barber got the win and Mike Wilson was the loser.

Pacifica-La Quinta, postponed--Umpires failed to make an appearence, forcing a postponement of the doubleheader at Santa Ana College.
