Softball Roundup : Titans Take Two More Games in the Pacific Tournament
The top-ranked Cal State Fullerton softball team won two games Friday in the second day of the University of Pacific Tournament at Stockton.
The Titans defeated United States International University, 1-0, in the first game behind the one-hit pitching of Susan LeFebvre (18-3). Fullerton scored its run in the first inning when Terri Oberg tripled in Leslie King.
Fullerton defeated Cal State Northridge, 4-0, in the second game as Debbie Mygin (18-2) pitched a two-hit shutout. Fullerton (37-5) got all four of its runs in the fifth inning, the key hit coming on Michelle Gromacki’s three-run home run.
In community college softball action:
Fullerton 1, Golden West 0--Lisa Fresquez improved her record to 21-4 by shutting out the Rustlers on four hits. The first-place Hornets (9-0 in conference and 24-4 overall) got their run in the first inning when Fresquez walked, took second on a fielder’s choice, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a squeeze bunt by Carla Williams. Lisa Brady, who allowed five hits, took the loss for Golden West.
