Christian Wins Motorcycle Main Event

Alan Christian won the speedway motorcycle scratch main event Friday in front of 7,135 fans in the Orange County Fairgrounds at Costa Mesa.
Christian, a nine-year veteran from Huntington Beach, finished in front of Mike Curoso of Fountain Valley and Bobby Schwartz of Newport Beach. It was Christian’s first victory of the season at the fairgrounds.
In the handicap main event, Robert Pfetzig edged Shawn McConnell of Brea and John Sandona of Richey Canyon. Don Butler of Yucaipa won the second division race. The third division race was won by Steve Donovan of Costa Mesa.
