Hogan Upset at Racquetball Tournament : Boston’s Cliff Swain Ousts Top Seed in Quarterfinal Match, 3-1

Top-seeded Marty Hogan of San Diego was upset by Cliff Swain of Boston Friday night, 11-8, 11-8, 5-11, 11-6 in a quarterfinal match of the $40,000 Ektelon National Racquetball Championships in The Sports Gallery at Anaheim.
Swain will play the Dave Peck in a semifinal match at 1:30 today. Friday night, Peck eliminated David Gross of St. Louis, 11-4, 9-11, 11-7, 11-6.
In other’s men’s matches, Gregg Peck, Dave’s younger brother, eliminated Jerry Hilecher of St. Louis, 11-10, 11-5, 11-8. Gregg Peck will play the winner of the Mike Yellen-Gerry Price match at 4:30 today.
In women’s action, top-seeded Lynn Adams of Costa Mesa defeated Molly O’Brien of Sellersville, Penn., 21-15, 21-14, 21-9, to advance to today’s 3 O’clock semifinal match against Marci Drexler of North Hollywood. Drexler beat fourth-seeded Caryn McKinney of Atlanta, 21-17, 21-19, 12-21, 21-17.
Diane Fulland of Orlando, Fla. defeated Terri Gilreath of El Toro and Dindy Baster of Lewiston, Penn. beat second-seeded Vicki Panzeri of Seattle in the other women’s quarter-final
