A Studio City home sustained an estimated $500,000 in damage after an early morning fire Saturday destroyed the roof and damaged some of the interior, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman said.
Nine fire companies responded to the blaze reported at 4:36 a.m., said spokesman Jim Wells. The fire was under control at the Longridge Avenue residence less than an hour later.
The fire was confined to the attic and roof of the 5,000-square-foot house, but furniture and some of the interior was damaged, Wells said. No one was injured, he said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
