Island Scheduled to Fight Randell
San Diego heavyweight Jesse Island will face Mike Randell in a boxing match at the El Cortez Convention Center in the main event of a card that begins tonight at 7 o’clock.
Island, scheduled to fight Olympian Evander Hollyfield June 6, is 13-12 as a professional. However, he is 1-0 since joining trainer Wes Wambold.
Randell has a 7-1 record and has won six fights in a row.
Other fights on the card include El Monte lightweight Zack Padilla vs. Rogelio Juarez of Mexico, Lincoln High School graduate Drafton Bunch vs. Los Angeles’ Matthew Lewis and San Diegan Ruben Proal vs. Mexicali’s Jorge Rivera.
All fights are six rounds.
