Gaines’ Son Signs With SDSU Basketball Team
San Diego State’s basketball team has signed two more players to letters of intent, including the son of Coach Smokey Gaines. The Aztecs have signed nine players with the addition of Jeff Bobin and Darryl Gaines.
Bobin averaged 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in leading Shorewood High School to a fourth-place finish in the Washington state finals. Bobin also played tight end in football and toured Europe with an all-star soccer team as a freshman.
Darryl Gaines averaged 10.5 points for San Diego’s Patrick Henry High, which finished 23-2. Gaines shot 53% from the field.
