‘86 Hawaii Football Team Will Open With Wisconsin
The University of Hawaii, trying to upgrade the quality of its football opponents, will open and close its 1986 season with Big Ten schools.
The Western Athletic Conference school will meet Wisconsin on Sept. 6 and close its 12-game schedule against Michigan on Dec. 6.
In 1987, the Rainbows will open their season on Sept. 12 at Wisconsin. They will end it Dec. 5 against Arkansas of the Southwest Conference in Honolulu. That same year, Hawaii will play host to Yale on Oct. 3.
Hawaii opens its 1985 schedule on Aug. 31 against Kansas in Honolulu. That will be one of eight home games at the 50,000-seat Aloha Stadium where the Aloha, Hula and Pro Bowls are played.
The Rainbows have eight home game again in 1986 and nine in 1987.
