A 32-year-old man killed in a Sunland traffic accident was identified by police Monday as Chris Lopez, who they said was chasing a woman motorist, shouting “do you wanna party?” when he crashed into a wall and was crushed under his van.

Los Angeles Police said a passenger, George Brewer, 18, of North Hollywood told officers Lopez lived in the van. Lopez drank eight wine coolers and four beers Friday evening, and early Saturday morning was driving recklessly in pursuit of a woman motorist to whom he was unsuccessfully shouting invitations as she fled, Brewer told police.

Sherri Zacevich, 26, of Sun Valley, told police she was trying to get away from Lopez when she made a right turn onto Stonehurst Avenue. Lopez couldn’t make the turn and the van struck a block wall, hurling Lopez through the windshield, police said.

The van rebounded from the wall and rolled over Lopez, officers said.

Brewer was not seriously injured.
