SPORTS DIGEST : BRIEFLY : CSUN Signs 11 Baseball Players
Six Valley athletes head a list of 11 baseball players signed to national letters of intent at Cal State Northridge, Coach Terry Craven has announced.
Chris Costley, a shortstop from Chaminade High who started at St. Mary’s College during the 1985 season, is the only transfer. The other five will be freshmen.
Outfielders Scott Stewart (Granada Hills) and Robby Scott (Burroughs-Burbank) will join pitchers Cheeky Palomarez (Simi Valley via Oxnard College), right-hander Robert Wheatcroft (Reseda) and left-hander Bill Berry (Chatsworth) in the Matadors program.
CSUN also announced the signings of outfielder Craig Burns and catcher Dan Muzzey from Sacramento City College, first baseman Danny Jones from Yuba College, Jim Vatcher from West Los Angeles College and third baseman Chris Pinsak from Glendale College.
