The city will begin selling bus pass stamps at a discount to senior citizens, the handicapped and the elderly on Aug. 26. The monthly stamps will be sold only to Monterey Park residents who possess RTD passes qualifying them for special rates. The stamps will be sold to senior citizens and handicapped persons from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at Langley Center, 400 W. Emerson Ave., and to students from 3 to 5 p.m. The city discount is $3, reducing the monthly bus transportation cost to $4 for senior citizens and the handicapped, $9 for students from kindergarten through high school and $12 for vocational and college students. Senior citizen rates are available to anyone 65 or older and to unemployed people who are 62 or older.
