Local News in Brief : Fire Badly Damages Sepulveda Restaurant
An early-morning fire that apparently started in a faulty water heater did extensive damage to a Sepulveda restaurant and minor damage to two adjacent businesses Wednesday, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department said.
Department spokesman Larry Ford said seven fire companies fought the 22-minute blaze that broke out at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Original Texas Rib Factory, 15029 Roscoe Blvd.
The fire caused $35,000 damage to the building and $25,000 damage to the restaurant’s contents. A print shop and a fashion shop adjoining the restaurant each sustained $1,000 in structural damage, Ford said.
Ford said the fire appeared to be accidental. All three businesses are in a 100-by-50-foot structure.
