Huntington Beach : City OKs Settlement With Accident Victim
- Share via
A Huntington Beach man who was injured when his car was hit by a vehicle driven by a city employee who ran a red light two years ago has accepted a $75,000 out-of-court settlement.
Samuel Eichler, 67, suffered shoulder injuries in the crash, underwent surgery and was confined to his home for six months while recuperating, his attorney, Ronald Levine, said. Eichler has “pretty much” recovered from the Oct. 12, 1983, accident but is still unable to do strenuous activities.
The accident occurred when Eichler was driving through the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Atlanta Avenue. Ron Hall, a city traffic signal maintenance worker who was on his way to repair a signal, ran a red light, and his vehicle struck Eichler’s car broadside.
