Mild Quake Jolts Big Bear Area

BIG BEAR, Calif. —
A mild earthquake triggered burglar alarms and awakened residents in the San Bernardino Mountains early today, but no damage was reported, officials said. The temblor occurred at 12:59 a.m. and was centered eight miles northeast of Big Bear. It registered 4.1 on the Richter scale.
