A minor earthquake rattled crockery and sparked a spate of telephone calls to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, but there werre no reports of damage. A spokesman for the seismological laboratory at Caltech said the temblor registered 2.6 on the Richter scale and was centered about five miles southeast of Beverly Hills. The Richter scale is a measure of ground motion as recorded on seismographs.
