Share

Construction of a $20-million shopping plaza on the former Wilshire Boulevard site of the now-demolished Brown Derby restaurant is expected to be completed in time for the year-end shopping season.

A three-level structure, the Derby Plaza, containing 43,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and parking space, is being built and is designed to serve the needs of the high-density areas’s office workers, according to the development firm, Inner City Equities.

An outdoor cafe will be part of a 6,000-square-foot plaza with an escalator leading to the upper floor. The architect is Maxwell Starkman AIA Associates, Ed Grush Co. is the contractor and Michael Epstein & Associates are leasing agents.
