The Lakers have signed forward Kurt Rambis to a multiyear contract, General Manager Jerry West said Monday.
The 6-foot 8-inch Rambis has been a Laker for four seasons, and started at power forward on the teams that won NBA championships in 1982 and ’85. He averaged 5.2 points and 6.4 rebounds last season, and played in all of the team’s 82 regular-season and 19 playoff games.
Rambis, 27, signed with the Lakers as a free agent before the 1981-82 season, after having played the previous season in Greece.
