Frankie Duarte of Venice stopped Ron Cisneros of Denver at the end of the seventh round in their scheduled 10-round bantamweight fight Tuesday night at the Country Club in Reseda.
Cisneros, weighing 117, was down in the fifth round from a flurry of punches, took a mandatory eight-count and was able to finish the round.
Duarte, weighing 119, had Cisneros in trouble again in the seventh. At the end of the round, Cisneros’ manager Mike Morton asked referee Pat Connelly to stop the contest.
